In the aftermath of the prison break at Hiram’s jail, Archie leads the charge to round up the remaining convicts on the loose. Tabitha reaches out for Betty’s help when she realizes Jughead is missing. When the guest character Penelope re-enters the fold, Cheryl becomes suspicious of her true intentions. Directed by Tessa Blake & written by Aaron Allen, the 87th episode will feature Camila Mendes, Madchen Amick, Charles Melton Casey Cott, and Drew Ray Tanner. Unlike the previous seasons, we’ve encountered some unexpected storylines and the 5 years of a time jump in the future tops them all. In the end, this decision by the showrunners has turned out to be a blessing in disguise as the change in the storyline has made the CW series arguably even more interesting.
Riverdale Showrunner on 5 Year Time Jump
When asked about the 5-year time jump, this is what the Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre had to say earlier this year: “On a practical level we really wanted to — I call them still the kids [Laughs] — but for the kids to be playing characters closer to their age,” He further went on to say, “And I think one of the hallmarks of Riverdale has been that it isn’t a procedural.
